Millions of people worldwide are having acne breakouts. If they have not yet felt the effects of it, then chances are they will someday. It mostly occurs upon the skin of adolescent teens but it strikes adults as well. Acne has been known to depress those who are hit by sudden breakout. 1. Drink plenty of water. Try to get at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Drink lots of water when the weather is cold not just in the summer. Hydration should be an year round job. Your entire body will function better when you keep yourself hydrated with pure water. The skin will improve over time from this alone.

2. Eat healthier and lighten up on all the junk. Limit all of the processed, greasy, and fast foods that we all love so much. Start replacing it with foods that are healthy and loaded with protein, vitamins and minerals. For example, vitamin A is great in assisting the skin repair and protect its delicate tissues. Vitamins C and E combined work together to help the skins DNA fight off damage that can be done by pollution, dust, smoke and etc..

3. Resist the need to pop your pimples! All that will do is make long lasting scars.

4. Wash the face twice a day. Wake up in the morning and wash before you leave, wash it again before you go to sleep. The soap used for washing yourself in the shower or bath is not the same soap to use for your face. These soaps have chemicals that can harm the sensitive skin of your face, and also cause more breakouts.

5. Pick the right face wash that is designed to stop zits and get rid of acne. Try to find something that will exfoliate the skin, even out your skin tone, cleanses your pores and washes away the dead skin cells. Some known ingredients that are in good acne face washes are salicylic acid, glycolic acid, sd alcohol 40, and also alpha hydroxy acid.

Please understand that your mission to stop zits has to be a commitment that you will stick to. It will not go away overnight, but it will get better. Results from following the above rules should be seen within the month and get progressively better overtime. You will get faster and better results depending on the products you decide to use to wash your face because all are not created equal.
